At the start of the second semester, PGTV was greeted by a new face. Olivia Coleman made her debut as the new PGTV teacher. She brings lots of ideas, new goals, and hopes to publish more content weekly.
“I want to make the show more professional, make it more like a newscast, add more content into it. Have more than one show a week. We’re already working on having two shows a week, and go up from there,” Mrs. Coleman said. “I really want to build stamina with that, and just kind of add new things, you know, maybe a podcast in the future.”
Though she is new to PG, Mrs. Coleman is no stranger to cameras. She has years of experience behind the camera and extensive training with the equipment.
“I worked at Channel 10 News for two years then my husband and I own a company called Coleman productions, where we do live production events, installations, concerts and events,” Mrs. Coleman said. “Lastly, I worked at Texas High as an assistant in Tiger vision.”
With all her experience and knowledge she hopes to up PGTV’s game. Striving to make their products better with every episode.
“So I dream big. I like things to be as best they can be and I want the best for the kids. I don’t want us just to be the best in the area. I want us to be the best in the state and the whole country,” Mrs. Coleman said. “I think that these students are capable of that and I believe that we can bring it to the next level.”
She knew immediately that she wanted the best for the kids and the program but there was some uncertainty from going from one district to another. After starting, Mrs. Coleman fit right in and was met with open arms by staff and students.
“I have been treated so well, like family,” Mrs.Coleman said. “I had a medical emergency at the beginning of the year with my pregnancy, and they have treated me like I’ve worked here for 25 years, and I’ve only worked here a few days. I’ve just been so blessed, and I’m so excited.”
