The annual student art show is a colorful display of effort and talent. The show is a night for art students to display their work to the public and be acknowledged for their efforts. The art department has been working the whole school year to showcase their artwork to the community.
“Although it is hard work to create so many pieces throughout the year that you want to display, it is all worth the effort.” sophomore Ginger Wright said.
The art show is more than an exhibition; it’s a celebration of community and shared experience. Many students have connected their artwork to current events or personal experiences, making the exhibition a reflection of their perspectives.
“People don’t really understand how special it is to be able to see people view your art that you have created,” senior Mallory Griffin said. “Just being able to share something so special that means so much to you with people in your community is such an eye opening experience.”
Throughout the school year the students place their artwork in different competitions to then be awarded at the ceremony held after the art show. The awards ceremony is a tribute to the dedication and passion of the students and the supportive environment provided by the art department.
“The awards ceremony is such a great experience especially when you get to be recognized for all the hard work you’ve put into your art.” senior Taylor Brieby said.
For many students, the art show is a cherished opportunity to share their work with family and friends who might not otherwise see it. It is not just about the students’ art work being on display, it’s the memories being created throughout the year that means the most to them.
“I enjoy being able to just see everyone’s family and friends come out and support us every year,” senior Mallori Guillot said. “I loved getting to make memories with the art department that will last forever.”
